Artist Statement
My paintings reflect the fleeting atmospheric conditions as the sun rises or as it sets in the west. I am captivated by the few seconds when the sky becomes full of infinite color and energy. In my work, I am passionate about creating these passing moments in a more permanent and emotional manner.

Bio Laura Guese’s paintings have been exhibited at Gallery 160 and the Hearst Art Gallery in Moraga, California. Laura was the recipient of the prestigious Hearst Art Gallery Purchase Award in May of 2005. Her work has also been featured in the Contra Costa Times and the Rocky Mountain News. Laura participated in The Mask Project, by creating a mask to benefit Hospice of Metro Denver. Presently, her work is exhibited at the Stoneheart Gallery in Evergreen, Colorado. She has spent time painting in France, the Lesser Antilles, and the western United States. Laura Guese was born in Denver, Colorado. She received a B.F.A. from Saint Mary’s College of California.
