A native Coloradan, raised on the Western Slope, in Carbondale. Steven began sketching at age 3. He got his own pocket knife when he was 6 and began carving soap.
He started his career in home construction at the age of 14. His art is inspired by his mountain roots and a connection to Native Shamanism. His love of nature is depicted in the flow of his sculpture, celebrating our exotic - organic environment. Steven is committed to using salvaged woods from; previous projects, other peoples scrap piles, and yard sales.
All his wood is in it's natural color and the glues are non-toxic. He cuts, glues, clamps, re-cuts and re-glues the wood to give it layers of depth and color.
